Our Commitment

Green Acres Pet Care

Professional Pet Boarding Kennel

Green Acres Pet Care has been in operation since 1997 and we commit to providing a clean facility and quality service at a reasonable price.

Dogs

Our professional boarding kennel service is tailored to meet the needs of every guest. We are experienced with many breeds and will accept all breeds for boarding and care. Big, small, young or old, we are able to accommodate all their unique requirements.

Cats

We love cats too, however our limited space only allows us to accept cats for boarding when they come as a companion with your dog.

Country Setting

Green Acres Pet Care Centre is centrally located in the Fraser Valley, conveniently situated just off Highway #1, only 10 minutes outside of Abbotsford and 15 minutes from Chilliwack. Highway #1 access is less than 5 minutes from our location and well marked for ease of locating us.

Our rural farm setting provides a quiet, laid back atmosphere where fresh air abounds. A very short distance away we have access to miles of dike path ways and dog friendly parks for those requesting dog walking services.

Individualized Care

We believe in the intimacy that only a smaller kennel operation can offer. We are able to give every guest individualized care and attention according to its personality and exercise needs, all at an affordable price. Whether your pet needs medications administered or just some extra personal walks, we offer these services as well.

It is not uncommon for pets to take a day to adjust to their new surroundings. Therefore we recommend pet owners to bring their pet's own food, "blankie" and favourite toys too - just remember to bring them home with you after your pet's stay.

Short and Lengthy Stays

We welcome both short and lengthy stay boarding services and are currently completing improvements in order to provide convenient affordable day care service as well.

Our Staff

Owner and Operations Manager - Kathy Kish

Kathy Kish is a local gal and the owner of Green Acres Pet Care Centre since 2015. She was born and raised in Abbotsford, BC, on a dairy farm, which in addition to all those cows, always included a variety of dogs, big and small. At present, Kathy owns a 9-year-old golden lab named Chevy, which she has had since he was a puppy.

Kathy is certified in DOGSAFE® Canine First Aid and is prepared to competently handle any situation while providing regular monitoring of every guest's general health.

"It will be an honour to care for your pets while in our kennel and to have your new and continued loyalty and referrals."

Professional Staff - Janelle, Andy and Dahlia

Our staff has many years of experience caring for pets in many different environments, including SPCA, Pet Shelters and Pet Smart.

  • Janelle - Office Manager
Janelle grew up on a dairy farm in the Sumas Prairie and is very in tune with animals. Since she was a child, animals could sense her nurturing abilities, and all the neighbour's dogs would show up at the family farm to see her. After graduating, Janelle explored various fields, including construction and dog grooming and excelled in physical health and wellness. Janelle is an advocate for rescuing and fostering dogs and spreading awareness around the current shelter crisis since the pandemic. She rescued a Pitty from Texas named Maisy.

  • Andy - Kennel Specialist
Andy grew up on a hobby farm where her love for animals developed into a key purpose to nurture and care for them. She spent countless hours volunteering with animals at the humane society and wildlife centre. Andy moved to the Fraser Valley and became a dairy farmer; she still works in the farming industry, milking and caring for animals. Andy spends her free time doing all the things related to dogs. She currently has two dogs of her own and has achieved obedience, tracking and herding titles in the USA and Canada.

  • Dahlia - Junior Assistant
Dahlia has a passion for dogs and lives very close to the kennel. She has been coming with her sister, Alivia (a former employee), off and on for the last 6 years. Dahlia loves helping at the kennel during our busy shifts. You will find her petting and assisting with general kennel duties. She grew up in a large family that always had a dog to love. Dahlia's current dog's name is Rupert. Besides being a dog lover, Dahlia enjoys horseback riding, singing and all types of music.

All staff members are required to maintain knowledge and expertise in dog behaviours through ongoing training and certification in DOGSAFE® Canine First Aid.
